Nestled away down a quiet back street, Shambles Cottage is a traditional Lakeland slate fronted terraced cottage that has everything you need and just one minutes’ walk from the centre of Ambleside. There is a cosy leather suite in the living room and a sitting room with views over Loughrigg Fell for those who want peace and quiet, away from it all. The spacious well-equipped kitchen is perfect to dish up a hearty meal to be served on the magnificent polished wooden oval table.
Shambles Cottage is in a quiet, secluded courtyard, a step away from one of Ambleside’s oldest streets ‘The Slack’, yet the town’s amenities are just yards away, with an abundance of shops, cafés and restaurants. With good public transport links it couldn’t be easier to forget the car and explore the area stress free. There are plenty of places to visit right on your doorstep, the famous Bridge House or a short walk to Stockghyll Falls are a must, whilst further afield there is beautiful Grasmere village, or catch one of the Windermere ferries from the nearby Waterhead terminal.
