Downstairs you’ll find a dining room with cosy wood burner and tiled floor. A comfortable living room with easy seating. Perfect to kick back and relax after a day of adventure. The kitchen is well-equipped and comes with everything you need. Upstairs you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, a kingsize and a twin. Both have fell views and ornate fireplaces. The bathroom features a good shower over the bath. You can park outside the cottage and at the rear you have a small yard with a bistro table.

You’re just a short drive from Cockermouth, a vibrant town with a vast array of independently owned shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Also, you’re a short drive to Maryport with its historic Roman fort and harbour. Drive to the west and you can access the stunning coastline of the Solway Firth, with sandy beaches and spectacular views of the Scottish mountains. To the east, you have the beautiful scenery of the lakes and mountains. Whether you love a gentle stroll, a challenging climb or a rugged bike ride, there’s plenty to do. With an abundance of trails and routes around the 214 Wainwrights Fells and some of the most stunning scenery surrounding the greatlakes, you’ll love this area.
If you love local culture, the delights of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth is well worth a visit. Take a 20-minute drive to reach the Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, which is where you will also find the Lakes Distillery, producers of fine whisky, gin, and vodka. Continue your journey along the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake to reach the historic market town of Keswick, with a huge selection of traditional pubs, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. The Theatre by the Lake offers award-winning drama and arts productions right on the shores of Derwentwater, one of the area’s most stunning tourist hotspots.
