Situated on the edge of the village and literally a stones throw from the River Parrett, this cottage is ideally situated for walks along the river; just 2 miles going east is the King Alfred Pub at Burrowbridge. Adjacent to the cottage is a large woodshed of seasoned wood; guests may help themselves. Nextdoor is a working farm. Occasionally there are pigs in the sty, nearly always cattle in the fields and definitely chickens whose eggs can be collected by guests. The chickens can be secured in a large wire run, if dogs aren’t used to free rangers and are prone to chase them.
The cottage has one master bedroom with a comfy king sized bed, a separate cosey (cosy) sitting room with wood burning stove, a fabulous glass fronted feature kitchen, a spacious shower room, a deck and ample parking.
Outside the cottage there is a delightful orchard and open farmland. Guests with well- behaved dogs are most welcome and upon request 'dog sitting' may be available.
From junction 24 of the M5, take the road signposted Huntworth and Moorland. After .5 mile, turn right in Huntworth towards Moorland. Proceed over a narrow bridge and alongside the River Parrett, past the Thatcher’s Arms pub for a further 1.5 miles. Turn left down a farm track which follows the river and Winslade Farm is right there. No more than 2.2 miles from junction 24, if you find yourselves in Moorland, you've gone .5 mile too far!
Considering renting a log cabin or coastal holiday cottage? South West England is many peoples first choice. There is plenty of holiday cottages that are dog friendly in Cornwall, Tamar Valley or Jurassic Coast Devon - some have electric car charging points.
