North Barn is a luxurious, detached barn conversion with four immaculate bedrooms, accommodating up to eight guests in total. No attention to detail has been forgotten, it is a truly idyllic holiday home retreat. Walk in from the private garden, straight into the hallway which leads to the homely, light and spacious open plan living space, which is attractively furnished with plenty of space for families or a group of friends. The kitchen has sleek grey units with ample preparation and storage space, and is fully equipped with a range of integrated appliances. The large island in the centre of the kitchen is a great spot to catch-up over coffee, and the large dining table is the perfect sociable area for a celebratory meal where you can entertain your guests and toast to the good times that lie ahead. The spacious living area has a 55" Smart TV and two large sofas. Perfect to relax in after a busy day exploring this part of Devon.
Upstairs, the bedrooms and landing have beautiful features, including wooden beams, sky lights, a glass balustrade staircase and high ceilings. There is one cosy twin bedroom and one standard double bedroom which have shared use of the family bathroom.
There are also two spacious kingsize bedrooms which each have their own contemporary en-suite shower room. Each of the bedrooms are furnished with a Smart TV, built-in wardrobes and bedside tables with lamps.
This first-rate home-away-from-home offers splendid outdoor spaces, including a patio at the front of the property with an outdoor picnic bench and parasol. There is also an enclosed lawned garden at the back of the property. The patio area is a lovely spot in the evenings to enjoy the sun setting with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand.
North Barn is an absolute delight and there is also the option to book South Barn (ref BCSBARN), which is a luxurious three-bedroom property located on the other side of the courtyard area, together they can accommodate a total of 14 guests.
This beautiful holiday home benefits from lovely countryside walks close by on Dartmoor and Exmoor, and cyclists and walkers are well catered for in the area with the famous Tarka Trail within easy reach as well as The Granite Way. The Tarka Train Line is a great alternative to a day driving, catch this local line at Eggesford Junction and head up to the coast or to the cathedral city of Exeter.
Iddesleigh, Hatherleigh and Winkleigh are just a short drive away and offer shops and pubs. The village of Iddesleigh, which is a 5-minute drive away, is known as War Horse Country as this is where Michael Morpurgo wrote the novel ’War Horse’. You will also be within easy reach of a riding stable, coarse fishing at Stafford Moor and War Horse Valley Farm Park, and slightly further afield are RHS Rosemoor Gardens, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way.
The stunning surfing beaches of the North Devon and North Cornwall coastline are an easy drive away for a day out, with sandy beaches and sheltered coves to explore including Bude, Saunton Sands, Croyde and Westward Ho! Discover the magnificent points of High Willhays and Yes Tor at Dartmoor National Park, where you can enjoy a scenic hike to the summit for unrivaled views, before embarking on an exhilarating outdoor adventure of canoeing or climbing with Adventure Okehampton. A visit to Castle Drogo is also not to be missed, an extraordinary castle with fantastic gardens, a shop and a restaurant with the moors as the backdrop.
