The Horse Gin is a completely renovated Grade II listed barn building, historically used as part of the threshing process. These barns used large cogs and wheels attached to pulleys, using horses as motive power.

Part of a Grade II listed model farm, this property has undergone a thorough renovation in 2023 to create a delightful holiday home sleeping up to six guests. It benefits from a peaceful outlook over neighbouring fields and has its own hot tub and outdoor dining area. An outside warm shower is provided to rinse yourself off before and after using the hot tub.
The approach to the property takes you down a flight of steps and along a walkway through the trees where the property opens out to reveal the outside dining area and pathway to the front door. As you make your way into the property you find yourself in the spacious, open plan living/dining and kitchen area with its vaulted ceilings andfree-standing wood burner.

There are three bedrooms at the property, one en-suite, along with a family bathroom. The property is all on one level and is located directly beneath the Wheel Loft (UK34044) which is a separate two-person holiday property.
The property is based in the picturesque semi-rural area of Blagdon, situated between the historic market town of Totnes and the traditional seaside town of Paignton. The Horse Gin is within easy access of the famous naval town of Dartmouth with its widely loved regatta and boating activity, as well as the infamous fishing town of Brixham. The beautiful and coastal town of Salcombe is within an hour’s drive away. This part of South Devon is renowned for its stunning coastal walks and beaches and boasts several National Trust properties and gardens.

For walking enthusiasts, The Horse Gin is conveniently located within 40 minutes of Dartmoor National Park, with its wild open moorland, deep river valleys, rich history, and rare wildlife. For specific child friendly activities, Paignton has a wide variety of activities - from its cinema, arcades, pier, and mini golf as well as play parks. Paignton Zoo lies under two miles away and the popular Woodlands Family Theme Park is located just outside Dartmouth. You may also like to consider day trip to the Eden Project and picturesque St Austell in Cornwall which can be reached within 1½ hour
