’Ow Do is one of two beautifully converted barns set within the grounds of Dringhoe Hall, just outside the coastal Yorkshire village of Skipsea. This holiday home offers superb quality accommodation for family and friends alike, and being within 12 miles of Rise Hall; the home of Channel 4’s Sarah Beeneys restoration program, is ideally located for groups attending weddings and special occasions at this popular stately home. On the doorstep are numerous outdoor activities and a plethora of walks and nature reserves to enjoy before relaxing in this home away from home.
Welcoming you into the heart of ‘Ow Do is the large open plan living area. At one end there are deep sofas where you can relax and unwind. The kitchen and dining area are opposite, with seating for 8 this modern kitchen offers plenty of storage and contemporary fixtures of the highest quality, this room will certainly keep the chef in the family smiling throughout your stay! With vaulted ceilings and picture windows, this room offers views across open countryside.
‘Ow Do has four well-appointed bedrooms which have been furnished with guests comfort in mind and retain many of the original beams. The master bedroom is on the first floor and along the corridor is a twin bedroom which shares the stunning family bathroom. ‘Ow Do has the best of both worlds with the remaining two en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor offering a mix of both twin and double accommodation. All rooms have been furnished with beautiful fabrics, flatscreen TV’s and have lovely views across the open fields of the East Riding. There is a bike store and the enclosed front and rear gardens will entice you to sit and have a drink when the weather is warm. There are many local pubs providing some great Yorkshire fayre and great real ale.
There are many amenities in the beach town of Hornsea including a promenade, Victorian folly and central park. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a supermarket where you can stock up. Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake, Hornsea Mere, provides plenty of opportunity for those who wish to try sailing and fishing, and is also home to over 250 species of birds. With easy access to the Yorkshire coastline including the towns of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough, RSPB reserves and the cultural hubs of Beverley, York and Hull, ‘Ow Do is just perfect and will provide you with a lifetime of memories.
