Recently decorated and nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Poppy Cottage offers home from home comfort with everything one needs for a break in the country. As you walk in there is a cosy living room, which is the heart of this home, offering the perfect space for snuggling up in front of the wood burner after kicking off your walking boots. The dining room is a great space for whiling away your evenings and if you don’t fancy cooking there is a great pub just up the road in the centre of the village. Enjoy waking up to gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside from one of the three beautiful bedrooms, one of which is kingsize, the rolling hills and open green valley provide some wonderful wildlife watching opportunities especially for the early risers!
The property sits in a Dark Sky Discovery site, one of only four in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the owner can provide a telescope should you wish to gaze at the stars.
There is plenty to explore in the area with a plethora of walks all from your very own doorstep. Malham Tarn and Buckden Pike are two great routes as is the Wharfedale Three Peaks which is perfect for those seeking a challenge. The winding country lanes snaking through the dales are some of the most loved by cyclists.
The village of Grassington is well worth a visit, not only is it home to some great local shops, cafes, and numerous walks, they also have lots going on throughout the year like the Dickensian Festival at Christmas and Arts Festival over summer. Hawes is also nearby where there is a large selection of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, and tea rooms, together with the Wensleydale Creamery, home to Wallis and Gromit’s favourite cheese. The market town of Skipton is another great day out, its cobbled streets lined with bars, shops, pavement cafes and Norman castle standing proud in the centre. Pub and restaurant 150 yards
