NORTHGATE BAKERY ANNEX Cottage
1 bedroom, sleeps 2

This property sits close to the river, and is ideal for a couple who wish to explore the county of Suffolk.

This self catering accommodation, adjoining the owner’s home, is situated in the Northgate conservation area of the historic market town of Beccles, set on the River Waveney, which forms part of the Norfolk/Suffolk border and the southern extent of the Broads. This character 16th-century cottage, formerly part of a bakery and shop, has a wealth of original features, including an inglenook fireplace in the living room and exposed original beams on the first floor. This is a great base for a romantic break or as a base for exploring the area. The property sits close to the river, where guests can enjoy waterbourne activities, interesting shops, restaurants and inns. There are many attractions in the area – visit the seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, with its famous pier, beach huts and Adnams brewery, go bird watching at RSPB Minsmere, or enjoy walking and cycling at Dunwich Heath. The medieval city of Norwich with its cathedral, castle, fine shops and restaurants is worth a visit, and is within an easy drive or leave the car and hop on the train from the station, which is a short walk away. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
