This self-catering accommodation, adjoining the owner’s home, is situated in the historic market town of Beccles, set on the River Waveney, which forms part of the Norfolk/Suffolk border and the southern extent of the Broads. This characterful property has a wealth of original features, including original Elizabethan beams and inglenook fireplace. The beams and fireplace are at least 450 years old, and many are older salvaged timbers. The kitchen has a Victorian tiled floor and the bedroom features a Tudor-style canopied double bed with matching window curtains and original beams.
It even has a dressing area with hairdryer, iron, and kettle so you can enjoy tea in bed without having to go down to the kitchen in the morning! This is a great place for a romantic break or as a base for exploring the area.
Nearby attractions include day boat hire on the Broads; the medieval city of Norwich with its cathedral, castle and fine shops and restaurants; the seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, with its famous pier, beach huts and Adnams brewery; and bird watching at RSPB Minsmere.
A short walk uphill to the town centre, supermarkets, local shops, pubs, a street market on Friday mornings, bus and railway stations, and downhill to the quay and the river for fishing, boating, extensive riverside walks and cycling at Dunwich Heath. Norwich is worth a visit and is within an easy drive or leave the car and hop on the bus from the bus station, which is a short walk away. Beach 8 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants within 400 yard
