Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. External shower block with washing machine and tumble dryer (coin-operated and shared). Enclosed front garden with terrace and garden furniture. Barbecue, at cost (£15 per stay). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced river and 4 steps in the garden.
A shepherd’s hut alongside the marsh and River Waveney is a fantastic location for a romantic stay, especially if you enjoy stunning views and wildlife. The combination of natural surroundings and comfortable accommodation creates a serene and intimate atmosphere. Imagine waking up to the soothing sounds of the river flowing and birds chirping while being surrounded by the beauty of the marshland. You can expect breathtaking views, especially during sunrise and sunset. The wildlife in such an area can be truly captivating. The marshes are full of bird life such as Marsh Harriers and sometimes Red Kites, so be sure to bring your binoculars! This is a wonderful haven to attract a diverse range of wildlife, including frogs, dragonflies, and even deer, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of otters playing in the water.
The hut itself provides a charming accommodation option, designed to offer a comfortable space for couples to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
There is an enclosed private decked veranda with comfy furniture to sit and truly enjoy your surroundings. You can enjoy snacks and meals prepared in the small kitchenette, but worry not, the village pub serving great food is located within a short walk from the doorstep.
Boat hire is available from the local boatyard to further enhance your stay, you may consider packing a picnic and exploring the miles of natural waters ways. The tranquillity of the surroundings will surely create a romantic ambience, making it a perfect setting for quality time together. The surrounding local area is packed with additional activities and attractions. From here you can explore both the delights of Norfolk and Suffolk.
Lowestoft with its great sandy beach, pier and traditional seaside activities, and the cultural city of Norwich for shopping and theatre.
Close by is the magnificent Somerleyton Hall, where the gardens and hall are open to visitors and a must-see with 5000 acres of English estate. Beccles (10 miles) is a lovely market town with a supermarket, boutiques, and eateries, host to local market days, with fresh produce and seafood, as well as many pubs and restaurants. Remember to take your swims and head to the Lido outdoor swimming pool. Explore the traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth for its pier, promenade, fun fair and amusements. Wide sandy beaches can be found at South Beach at Lowestoft, Kessingland and Gorleston-on-Sea. There are also wild beaches at Covethite, Kessingland and Dunwich. Southwold, Aldeburgh, and RSPB Minsmere are all within an hour’s drive
