Extra Amenities

Set within a residential area in the sought after village of Cawston, Fletcher’s Rest, adjacent to the owner’s home, provides a cosy retreat for those wishing to enjoy somewhere to relax and unwind in. It is also perfectly placed for exploring all that the area has to offer. Walkers will find Cawston a great place to stay as there are established walks along an old rail track bed which forms part of Marriot’s Way, a 26 mile bridleway. The cycle route and footpath winds its way along the disused railway lines running from Norwich to Aylsham. The village centre is close by and offers a local shop and deli and a popular pub.

Venture a little further and you will find attractions such as the Blickling Hall Estate, Felbrigg Hall and the Thursford and Muckleburgh collections. Of course, the real draw is the stunning North Norfolk Coastline and the Norfolk Broads. Take in the sea air in Cromer or find yourself drifting along the Broads in less than half an hour. Or, visit the medieval city of Norwich with its splendid Norman castle and numerous galleries and museums in under half an hour too, making this the perfect location for getting out and about.

If your legs need a rest, or you would like a change from driving, take a nostalgic trip by steam on Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge railway, which runs between Aylsham and Wroxham. This pretty 18 mile round trip runs through glorious Norfolk countryside and makes stops at pretty Norfolk villages along the way, all perfect for exploring. After a busy day’s sightseeing, you can return to Fletcher’s Rest to dream of adventures yet to come. Beach 16 miles. Shop 150 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
