Nestled within the Broadland village of South Walsham, set in lush countryside, excellent walking and cycling that can be enjoyed from doorstep, with designated footpaths, trails and quiet country lanes surrounding the property. The market town of Acle, 4 miles and Brundall, 5 miles offer railway stations, post office, mini-market, hairdressers and local eateries. There are many good food serving pubs within the surrounding area, some of which are located alongside the river. Jump on the train to visit the city of Norwich, or the traditional seaside towns of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.

Norwich is 11 miles away where guests can visit the cathedral, castle museum, theatre, excellent shopping and art galleries. Wroxham, only 5. 5 miles away, is known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, and has waterside shops, cafés, and daily boat hire with river trips available to explore the expanse of waterways. There is an RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen and Steam Museum, 6 miles. 9-hole golf course and driving range at Blofield, 4 miles.

Norfolk’s finest sandy beaches are within 14 miles and include Winterton-on-Sea, Waxham, Horsey and Sea Palling. For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Reedham offers Pettitt’s Animal Adventure Park, BeWILDerwood at Horning, and Dinosaur Adventure Park at Lenwade. There are several National Trust properties in the region and three heritage railways: The North Norfolk Railway, The Mid Norfolk Railway and the Bure Valley Railway.
