Dating back over 200 years, this boutique retreat blends rustic charm with contemporary comfort and is one of two thoughtfully converted, carbon-neutral barns at Sulby Barns (Tansers Barn UK51083 is under a mile away), finished to a high standard to create a quiet getaway from busy everyday life.
On the ground floor, the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is warm and welcoming, with a cosy log burner for cooler evenings and sliding patio doors that open onto a private terrace. The small but perfectly formed kitchen is well equipped for relaxed self-catering, while a stylish wet room shower roomcompletes the ground floor.

Paddle stairs lead up to the mezzanine bedroom, where a comfortable double bed awaits beneath the eaves. Outside, the patio is the real highlight, boasting far-reaching views across the reservoir. Here you can unwind in the two-person wood-fired hot tub or enjoy al fresco dining using the brick-built barbecue as the sun sets over the countryside.
A short stroll brings you into the charming village of Welford, set on one of England’s historic coaching routes. The village is home to a welcoming pub, a handy local shop, and the terminus of the Welford Arm of the Grand Union Canal, a particularly picturesque spot for gentle walks and waterside picnics. Walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice, with an abundance of countryside trails weaving through rolling farmland and quiet lanes.

Beyond the village, the surrounding area offers plenty to explore. Nearby Market Harborough provides a mix of independent shops, cafés and restaurants, along with a popular market and attractive riverside walks. The famous Foxton Locks are also close by, offering an impressive staircase of canal locks and a fascinating insight into Britain’s canal heritage. Nature lovers will enjoy days out at nearby reservoirs and country parks, ideal for birdwatching, sailing and scenic walks.
