This mid-terrace cottage has been lovingly restored and individually styled to offer all the comforts of modern living whilst still retaining its original charm. On entering, there is a very comfortable living room leading to a contemporary, well-equipped kitchen which in turn opens onto a small yard. There is also a small outhouse suitable for secure bicycle storage.
The village of Cromford lies just 1 mile from the spa town of Matlock Bath and 3 miles from Matlock. Famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, and often referred to as the cradle of the industrial revolution, Cromford has a great selection of pubs, shops, restaurants and cafés. It also has an award-winning beauty salon offering relaxing treatments, a renowned book sellers (Scarthin Books) and a chocolatier. Arkwright’s historic Cromford Mill is a short walk away near the scenic canal basin and houses a museum and specialist shops. The immediate local area boasts an abundance of attractions such as the Heights of Abraham with its own cable cars, the Peak District Mining Museum, Masson Mill and many walks with stunning rural views.
The more active are catered for with plentiful longer walking and cycling routes plus climbing and caving around the Derwent Valley and the White Peak. Sailing, canoeing, sail boarding and excellent fly fishing are available on nearby Carsington Water. Cycling routes include the Carsington Water, High Peak, Monsal and Tissington Trails. A short drive away is the beautiful Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall which have been used in the feature films of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Jane Eyre’. Frequent public transport is available to scenic Buxton, Nottingham and Derby. Shop, pubs and restaurant within 400 yards.
What do you need - country cottage or house in the country? Heart of England is a great holiday destination. There is plenty of dog friendly weekend breaks in Cotswolds, Gloucestershire or Painswick - some have fishing nearby.
