Extra Amenities

This is a very sweet terraced cottage nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, on the main road in the village of Bourton-on-the-Hill. Dating back to the 17th century, Cosy Cottage has kept many original features including low, exposed beams. The feature fireplace is a lovely focal point in the living/dining room, and each bedroom is on a separate floor. The kitchen is of modest size but is fully equipped with everything you need. The cottage garden makes the most of the sun with a raised terrace with garden furniture - the ideal place for dining al fresco or simply enjoying a glass of wine at the end of a full day sightseeing.
Bourton-on-the-Hill boasts a fabulous pub that serves delicious food, and is a stone’s throw away from the Batsford Estate, which is home to the Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre.

Here you can enjoy the country’s largest private collection of trees and shrubs with over 2850 labelled specimens. There are beautiful walks from the cottage door, including footpaths along the valley and past Sezincote House, as well as over the hill towards Blockley. Just under 2 miles away is Moreton-in-Marsh, a lovely Cotswold market town with many independent shops, pubs and cafés, and a railway station linking you to London Paddington and Great Malvern. Bourton-on-the-Hill is a great base in the Cotswolds from which to explore the many towns and villages this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer, including Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway.

There are many National Trust properties nearby, including Chastleton House, Snowshill Manor and Garden, and Hidcote. Slightly further afield, but within a 30-minute drive, are the popular destinations of Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, the Regency town of Cheltenham and the medieval town of Burford. An organic farm shop and eatery are under 9 miles away. Shop 1¾ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
