Ikkle is a charming cosy cottage, situated in Old Blidworth, with good access to all local amenities. It has a small enclosed patio which is fenced and walled, making it the ideal space for dogs to enjoy. There are several dog friendly pubs/restaurants within walking distance, and just a short walk away is the village, with its two supermarkets, takeaways, a chemist and various shops. This lovely area is a great base for both walkers and cyclists. The historic area of Old Blidworth is in Robin Hood country, with close proximity to Sherwood Forest.
Newstead Abbey, the former home of Lord Byron, is only a few miles away, and hosts an exhibition, relating to the life and works of Lord Byron and his daughter, Ada Lovelace. Local attractions include Clumber Park, Rufford Country Park and Abbey, and Center Parcs. White Post Farm, Farnsfield, Ferry Farm Park, Hoveringham are child orientated and make for a great day out for all the family.
Another popular attraction is the historic market town of Southwell, with its minster, open to the public. There are many cafés and interesting boutique shops in the town. The market town of Newark is also within easy reach, and there is a tram and train station at Hucknall, with various routes available, including Nottingham.
