Carpenter’s Barn is a lovely two-bedroom barn conversion within the owner’s working small holding where you can meet sheep, horses, chickens and bees. It offers open plan living space with a cosy wood burner and views over the gardens and beyond. Enjoy a morning cuppa in the front garden whilst enjoying the peace and quiet this village offers.
There are some beautiful countryside walks through the owner’s field, over a stream and to the neighbouring villages. Pillerton Hersey is a small village centered around a 13th-century parish church and is a lovely, friendly community. Situated between the pretty Warwickshire towns of Shipston-on-Stour, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa and close to the Oxfordshire market towns of Chipping Norton and Banbury, this is an ideal location to base yourself when exploring this stunning part of the country.
Pubs and local facilities inclluding post office, butchers and convenience stores can be found in the neighbouring villages of Ettington and Kineton, both about 3 miles. Discover the art gallery at Compton Verney, 4 miles, which houses many collections and exhibitions in addition to a park with a labyrinth, bird hide, pond dipping and a playground.
If you want to spend more time outdoors, then a trip to the Burton Dassett Hills is a lovely place for country walks, picnics whilst admiring the views of the rolling hills. The National Trust’s Upton House and Gardens, Charlecote Park, Farnborough and Hidcote are all within easy reach.
Take a leisurely drive into the North Cotswolds visiting the towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton or Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. If you fancy trying the local produce, the Cotswolds Distillery is within 20 minutes’ drive where you can sample the local gin and whisky.
Within 25 minutes’ drive are the market towns of Banbury and Royal Leamington Spa which are full of high street and independent shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants. Also a similar distance is Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick with its famous castle, and Bicester Village, famous for its shopping outlet.
