Beadnell is a popular holiday destination for those seeking a traditional seaside retreat. The village is often acknowledged as the ’Jewel in Northumberland’s Seaside Crown’ with the glorious stretch of golden sands of Beadnell Bay, attracting an array of water sport enthusiasts. Sea kayaking, kite surfing and scuba diving can all be arranged locally.
Only two miles north is the traditional port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly.
The village offers a further range of shops, pubs and tea rooms, and horseriding, fishing and golf are all available.
Travel a few miles inland to the characterful, historic market town of Alnwick with its own dramatic castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland.
