Tarset Tor Bothy 3 is a sustainably built retreat set beside the rugged outcrop of Tarset Tor in the stunning Northumberland National Park. Sleeping up to eight guests, it’s an ideal choice for families, friends, or groups wanting to enjoy eco-friendly living in one of England’s most beautiful wilderness areas. Constructed from sustainably sourced cedar and powered by renewable energy, the Bothy blends contemporary comfort with an eco-conscious ethos.
The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space features a cosy biomass stove and large windows showcasing sweeping hillside views. A private veranda provides the perfect spot to soak in scenery that stretches as far as Scotland.

Accommodation is designed for flexibility. Two mezzanine bedrooms each offer four bunk beds, complete with individual lights and privacy curtains for comfort and convenience. Both rooms have en-suite shower facilities, and there’s an additional ground floor toilet.
Guests are well-placed to explore directly from the property, with walking and cycling trails leading into the surrounding landscape. Nearby Kielder Forest offers endless opportunities for adventure and wildlife encounters, from red squirrels and deer to wild goats and ospreys. The area also forms part of Europe’s largest Dark Sky Park, making it one of the best spots in the UK for stargazing.

For those seeking more thrills, activities such as horse riding, quad biking, fishing, survival courses, and golf tours can all be arranged. On-site facilities add to the experience, including a barbecue and fire pit, woodland bar, sauna, drying room, bird hide, bike wash and cycle store, pool table, and a five-a-side football pitch.
