The medieval village of Warkworth with its notable castle ruins towering over the main street, can be reached within 10 minutes by car or a pleasant 45-minute walk along the river, and, only a little further, the golden beaches of Alnmouth, Druridge Bay and Bamburgh (to mention a few), welcome those in fancy of an infamous Northumbrian walk.
