Electric heating (underfloor on first floor), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request. Small patio with garden furniture and barbecue. 5-acre grounds with children’s play area (shared with public). Hot tub for 5 (private). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times. Fishing on-site (at cost, licence required). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The driveway is sloping and there is a partially fenced lake and stream, 100 yards away.
Set in beautiful surroundings at New Mills Trout Fishing Park, why not try your hand at fly fishing? The lake is home to rainbow, tiger, blue and brown trout – probably the true fisherman’s ideal holiday destination. For the novice, try your hand at the fun fishing pond and bag yourself that ’I’ve caught my first fish’ experience, with all tuition and equipment provided. No trip is complete without a visit to the on-site café and bistro which serves freshly made meals, including their signature trout dishes (booking in advance is essential).
Also on-site to enjoy are giant games including chess and Connect 4, a Fairy Trail, alpaca and sheep feeding, a children’s play park and tackle shop. Please note costs for our fishing and Fairy Trail are separate and pre-booking is essential.
Lake View Cottage has a small patio area overlooking the fishery and a private 34-jet hot tub for up to 5 guests.
The cottage is situated only 1 mile away from the picturesque market town of Brampton and further afield is the lovely city of Carlisle. Ullswater and the Northern Lakes are just over half an hour’s drive away. This is the ideal base for a holiday full of adventure and exploring, and no visit is complete without a visit to the famous Hadrian’s Wall. There are also lovely riverside walks close by. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
