Just over a mile from the stylish coastal resort of Grange-over-Sands, with its pretty parks and gardens, bandstand with live music and mile long promenade. Many historic houses and gardens are nearby, including Holker Hall and Sizergh Castle, and of course the area is famous as the inspiration for Beatrix Potter. The southern tip of Lake Windermere is only 6 miles away. There are good local walks in the area, including at Hamps Fell, Grange and Whitbarrow, near Witherslack. Grange with shops and restaurant 1½ mile, pub and restaurant 110 yards.
