We stayed over the weekend early February and was very cold so it was lovely to sit there with the log burner on keeping it very cosy. The cottage is very well equipped and had everything we needed although we think a small blind on the upstairs window would be required as a small gripe. The location is excellent for the local amenities which had several take away or restaurant options including watering holes and a Co Op and petrol station within a ten minute walk the opposite end of the high street. The owner was on hand if we needed any advice. We will definitely come again as we enjoyed our stay and had a lovely relaxing time. We would recommend the cottage to anyone.

Fantastic cottage right in the centre of Kirkby Stephen. Even nicer than in the photos! Very well presented no signs of wear and tare. Equiped with everything you need. Nice of the the owner to leave us logs so so we could get the fire going on our first night.

?Summerville Cottage is attractive, clean and comfortable and also very well equipped. In the heart of Kirkby Stephen, it's close to a variety of interesting small shops, cafes and bars, as well the river Eden and a number of beautiful and accessible local walks. There is a bright raised courtyard at the back of the cottage which is great for Al-fresco dining. There is no off-road parking, but we had no problems parking on the road directly outside. We stayed as a party of 4 adults (two couples each with a dog) - we found it was an ideal base for trips into the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales as well as a super place just to relax and let the world go by? we had a wonderful time?you won?t be disappointed!?
