Located in the village of Wrightington, this semi-detached, garden fronted, period 1930’s house, offers comfortable accommodation, ideal for families and groups of friends. There is plenty of off road parking, and it has an enclosed rear garden, which is ideal for al fresco dining. Next door is Derby House, which has a great café, restaurant and food hall, with local award-winning butchers, as well as a substantial shopping area for clothing, toys and gifts. Wrightington also has a couple of good pubs and restaurants within the village. The nearby Wrightington Hotel and Country Club also offers great spa and golf packages. A wider range of amenities can be found in Wigan, and from here you can take a train into Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Birmingham or even London! Thanks to its proximity to the motorway network, less than 2 miles from junction 27, off the M6, there are so many places to visit within easy driving distance.
Blackpool, who’s many attractions include; the famous Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sealife Centre, Madame Tussauds, water park and annual illuminations, is just a 40 minute drive away. The popular cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Lancaster are all within a 45 minute drive, and just over an hour away is Cumbria’s stunning Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Within a short drive you can also find Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley, with its quaint villages, excellent walks and welcoming country pubs, as well as the Forest of Bowland (Area of Outstanding National Beauty).
There are plenty of walks and cycling opportunities around the area, and there is storage on site for bicycles. Other activities available locally include; golf and fishing. Families will enjoy Martin Mere Wetland Centre and Haigh Hall Country Park, which offers; 350 acres of wood and parkland with adventure playground, miniature railway, mini golf, craft gallery, gift shop and café.
