As you make the approach along a quiet lane, the stunning location of The Coach House will come into sight; take a moment to stand and absorb the view, it won’t be the last time you do this during your stay.
Enter through the sun room, which leads into the main hall way; stairs lead to the upper floor, which is open plan, spacious and full of natural light. You will be instantly drawn to the large picture window; the elevated height looks down onto the reflections of Bassenthwaite Lake, overlooked by the splendour of the Skiddaw Massif. The comfortable sofas are the perfect place to sit and relax in an evening, whilst the kitchen has space to make a hearty meal for all the family as they sit around the dining table.
With so many great country pubs serving excellent food in the area, you could easily be tempted away. To the lower ground floor, two comfortable bedrooms await for a good night’s sleep after your busy days out in this beautiful area.
Set in the grounds of the owner’s magnificent house, this is an ideal spot for walkers, couples and cyclists looking to explore the surrounding area. For nature lovers the location is frequently visited by many, look out for the Osprey from early springtime, whilst nuthatches, wagtails and red squirrels can all be seen in the garden if you’re lucky.
There are several woodland walks leading straight from the back of the cottage, and just a few hundred yards away, cyclists and walkers can join the Whinlatter trails. The Lakes Distillery is just 10 minutes drive, and in the opposite direction is the popular town of Keswick, perfect for outdoor specialist shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. If you choose to leave the car, there is a bus stop just a few minute’s walk from the front door. Beach 18 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
The Coach House can be booked together with Squirrel’s Retreat (ref UK30821) to accommodate up to 5 guests.
