A peaceful and memorable stay can be had by all in this stone built cottage within a short row of holiday properties on a working beef and sheep farm. The location is perfect, situated on the lower slopes of Blencathra, one of the highest and most imposing fells in The Lake District National Park. The backdrop to Grajo Cottage is simply stunning and the changing colours of the seasons mean you won’t tire of the views from this Lakeland hideaway. Sleeping up to six guests in two double bedrooms and a twin room, the cottage is excellent for multiple couples and families alike. Because of the configuration, it is ideal for larger families to come and enjoy a relaxing Lake District holiday in the heart of this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cottage is well-equipped and even has a private, south-facing patio area with garden furniture opposite the front door. This can either be accessed via eight steps or via a ramp and offers a great place to sit out and soak up the sun throughout the day.
The ground floor features a comfortable living room as well as an open plan kitchen/dining room. Upstairs you’ll find the bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Doddick Farm Cottages are situated just off the A66, between Threlkeld and Scales, two small villages on the main route between Penrith and Keswick which offer a couple of local pubs with great food and cask ales. Keswick Golf Club is less than a mile away if you fancy bringing your golf clubs. Just 5 miles away you’ll reach the popular market town of Keswick and all its delights, including great shopping experiences, themed bars and excellent restaurants catering for all tastes. There are plenty of fun things to do including Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world and Puzzling Place, a hands on attraction with mind-boggling optical illusions. For a bit of culture, why not visit Theatre By The Lake offering award-winning drama and arts as well as a delightful café and lakeside location.
Speaking of lakes, you are just 7 miles from Derwent Water and 8 miles from Thirlmere, two of the largest lakes and can boast some of the most stunning scenery around these parts. Whether you want gentle walks, challenging climbs for rugged adventure or you just want to relax and take in the countryside, you can have it all at Grajo Cottage. Easy access to Blencathra, Helvellyn and from Keswick, Skiddaw, Catbells and Latrigg to name a few. Shop 4½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1¼ miles.
