The Coach House is normally let on weekly basis.

The Coach House is set within the grounds of the owner's home in the glorious Wiltshire countryside with stunning views to the Marlborough Downs. You can lie in bed and watch the sun - and at times even the moon - rise up behind the rolling hills. The rural location is within striking distance of the Georgian City of Bath, The National Trust village of Lacock, renowned for its historic houses, wonderful pubs and of course as the location for Harry Potter, Cranford and Pride and Prejudice.
Almost adjacent is the Bowood Estate with its Championship Golf Course, excellent Hotel and Restaurant plus the most fantastic children's adventure playground. Nearby towns include Bradford-upon-Avon, Devizes, famous for the Caen Hill flight of canal locks and Wadworth Brewery with its iconic 6X Beer, and Avebury's world famous stone circle.
Just a 40 minute drive from The Coach House is Longleat Safari Park and House. This stately home is the seat of the Marquesses of Bath.
The Elizabethan House is set in over 900 acres of parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown and there is an additional 8,000 acres of woods and farmland and don’t forget the outstanding safari park with everything from zebras to rhinos. A real must if you are in the area.
After a busy day you can return to the peace and quiet of the detached Coach House and enjoy some time by the pool or perhaps action on the tennis court!
Accommodation
This detached Coach House has been lovingly restored, to create a beautiful self-catering property that very comfortably sleeps 4 in two bedrooms (plus one on a French day bed in the downstairs study) so a maximum of 5. There is a huge open-plan room with kitchen at one end and comfy sofas, chairs and glass-fronted wood-burning stove at the other. The property is very well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave in addition to an oven and hob. There is a 32" TV/DVD/Music system and WIFI for those requiring internet access. There is natural limestone flooring and a large arched sheet of glass in place of the original entrance, allowing natural light to flood in. Also downstairs is the study separate loo with unique round stone sink. The entrance hall and study have Welsh Country slate flooring from which rises the beautiful Bath stone staircase.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms, both with Juliette balconies and wonderful views to the Marlborough Downs. The main double bedroom has a huge super king size bed and a luxurious bathroom. The twin room has a pair of Victorian beds, en suite wet-room with power shower and beautiful square stone sink. There is underfloor heating throughout the downstairs and upstairs rooms.
During your stay at the Coach House you have use of the swimming pool and tennis court (times by arrangement). There is also a large outdoor area with as well as BBQ, table, chairs and umbrella. A pool table and exercise bike are also available (by arrangement).
Directions
From London:
M4 west, exit at Junction 14 for Hungerford. Follow A338 down into Hungerford, at mini round-about turn right on to the A4 towards Marlborough and then on to Calne. In Calne at the 1st mini round-about opposite the White Heart Hotel, turn left into Silver Street A3102. Continue approx 4 miles until you hit a T-junction, turn left on to A342 towards Devizes. Now on long straight piece of road, approx. 200 yards along turn right into lane, signed ‘Chittoe and Spye Park’, (if you get to the garage you’ve gone too far.) Follow the lane, go straight over cross roads (your right of way any way), past common on the right and turn into the first drive on the left signed The Old Vicarage, don’t go down the hill!
Eastbound from Bristol
M4 East, exit at Junction 17 for Chippenham Follow signs towards Chippenham and then A4 towards Calne. A couple of miles from Chippenham take the A342 towards Devizes. Follow on up the hill past Bowood Estate, through hamlet of Sandy Lane. Just over 1/2 mile out of Sandy lane, you hit long straight piece of road turn right into lane signed 'Chittoe and Spye Park'.Follow instructions as above.
What’s included
All heating is included in the price of the rental. The owners provide the linen and all towels. Pets are allowed but please enquire re the charge per pet. Changeover is normally Friday but can be negotiable between Sept-April. Check in from 4pm, check out 10am. Short breaks are available, please enquire.
