Alternatively, on a colder evening, settle down on the couch and enjoy some light entertainment on the 40" television. Choose from the two cosy bedrooms and be sure to get a well-rested sleep before your adventures to come.
The house sits ten metres from Exeter Road, so no need to fret about road noise. The house also sits ten metres above the sea walls enabling stunning sea views whilst simultaneously being protected from the big sea storms. Please be aware that the wall to the terrace garden has a ten-metre drop on the seaside down to the railway line so please be careful and due to this children under the age of 16 cannot stay at this property. However, all of this being noted, Coastguard Cottage is an excellent choice to stay if you are looking to escape to the seaside. With Dawlish on the doorstep, there are many shops, cafés and amusements to entertain all.
The neighbouring beach, Dawlish Warren, can also make an excellent day out with its golden sand dunes, a nature reserve that attracts huge numbers of migratory birds, meadows and freshwater ponds, nature lovers will not be disappointed. Fancy a cycle ride or prefer walking? There are scenic routes for both all the way from Dawlish to Exeter which runs along Exeter Canal and the River Exe. If you wish to venture further hop in the car and drive half an hour to Exeter, Torbay or Dartmoor National Park, making this cottage an ideal base to explore the diverse parts of South Devo
What do you need - gate lodge or holiday cottage near the sea? South West England has wonderful wildlife. You will see holiday cottages that are dog friendly in Tamar Valley, Truro and Falmouth or Padstow and the Lizard Peninsula - some have fishing nearby.
