Thorne Farm Annexe is a 17th-century, one-bedroom holiday home with plenty of character. Attached to the main farmhouse on a working farm, close to the beautiful Exe Estuary, this upside-down property has an open plan kitchen/living room on the upper floor, with plenty of natural light. The farm sits close to the fishing village of Lympstone, the historic port of Topsham, and the seaside town of Exmouth on the Jurassic Coast.
This is an ideal base for a couple wanting to explore the best Devon has to offer. The annexe has its own private entrance and off-road parking within the yard of the farm. The property has recently been refurbished to a very good standard and offers a bright, open living space.
The bedroom is on the ground floor, whilst the bathroom and kitchen/living room are on the upper floor. The kitchen is equipped with essential cooking and dining equipment. Although the farm sits on a busy road, the owners have provided shutters and curtains in the bedroom to dampen the sound and provide you with a good night’s sleep. The outdoor seating area is shared with the owner’s main house and guest have access to a rustic charcoal BBQ.
Exmouth’s 2-mile sandy beach on the Jurassic coastline is just an 8-minute drive away and offers excellent water sports facilities.
The beach links to the South West Coastal Path and the Exe Estuary Cycle Trail, estuary cruises operate from the dock and charter boats are available for fishing trips. From November to February, the Exe Estuary is home for some 20,000 migratory birds and the red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point at the eastern end of the beach are designated the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Keen hikers should head to Dartmoor National Park with is just a 40-minute drive away and the quintessential East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth and Seaton are within easy reach
