This ground floor apartment sits in a superb position right on The Esplanade in Fowey, which gives you unobstructed views across the estuary to Polruan and the ocean beyond. A stroll along The Esplanade into Fowey will bring you to the picturesque waterside, and the historic centre with its meandering lanes full of craft and gift shops, galleries, quaint cafés and restaurants.
The historic seafaring town of Fowey is famous as the home of the writer Daphne Du Maurier and the location of the annual Fowey Royal Regatta. It is a magnet for watersports enthusiasts from sailing and sea fishing, to kayaking on the river.
Fowey has it all; coastal walks and boat trips out to sea to spot dolphins and seals can be taken from the quay, as can a ferry across the bay. The pretty little beach at the quaintly named Readymoney Cove, is a short stroll away and the perfect spot to explore the rock pools, go crabbing or simply lie on the beach and enjoy a Cornish ice cream.
There are many National Trust gardens and houses in the area, as well as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan which are both must do destinations.
There are numerous walks that can be started right from your door. The Hall Walk is a particular favourite with locals, and visitors, as it hugs the estuary as it tracks through the wooded banks along its shore, with sea and town views along the way. The Esplanade is part of the South West Coastal Path and you can walk around the point to Polkerris and past Daphne Du Maurier’s family home at Menabilly. Cycling, surfing, golf, cinemas, bowling and horse riding are all available locally. Beach 300 yards. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
What do you need - country retreat or coastal holiday? South West England is a favourite holiday destination. There are many dog friendly weekend breaks in South Coast Cornwall, West Cornwall or Exeter - some have discounted deals.
