This delightful, 18th-century cottage has been lovingly renovated by the adjacent owners to create a luxury holiday home. Once a butcher’s shop, this terraced Georgian cottage lies in the idyllic village of Nunney, just 3 miles from Frome. On the ground floor is a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living room with a wood burner. Upstairs is a luxurious bedroom and en-suite shower room. Opposite the cottage is a courtyard garden with a barbecue, firepit and seating with views looking over Nunneybrook river.
The historical village of Nunney features the ruin of medieval Nunney Castle, which you are able to visit and enjoy a picnic beside the moat, or visit the boutique café or local pub.
The village is close to the heart of Frome, a bustling market town with weekly markets and an ever-growing popular monthly market which takes over the town centre. There are cobbled, pedestrianised streets with rivulets running down, and an array of cafés, individual shops, leisure, and entertainment.
Benefiting from its countryside setting, The Old Butchers Cottage is within a short driving distance of many famous locations.
Longleat is close by, as are Wookey Hole and the Yeovilton Aircraft and Haynes Motor Museums. Bath, designated a World Heritage Site, boasts many delights including the Roman Baths. Nearby Frome has even more listed buildings than Bath and hosts a renowned arts and music festival in early July. Salisbury, Wells, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, and Avebury are also popular places to visit from The Old Butchers Cottage. Walkers are spoilt for choice, from the local countryside to the splendour of the Mendips, including Cheddar Gorge
