Barfield’s Cherry Tree Cottage is a converted stone barn, ideal for a family with children or couples looking for a cosy country retreat with the added benefit of two separate sitting rooms, each with its own TV and DVD player. One of the key features of this pretty holiday cottage is the use of the owners’ beautiful indoor heated swimming pool (1 minute’s walk from the cottage). The cottage has its own private patio-style garden to the front with a lovely sitting-out area and there is a small games room available (1 minute’s walk from the cottage).
The owners, who live close by, are themselves very accommodating and a lovely welcome pack is provided for guests. The property is situated on a 35-acre smallholding with sheep, horses, chickens and ducks, close to Canworthy Water in the heart of rural Cornwall, and just a short drive from some superb coastal towns and beaches such as Bude and Crackington Haven. The pretty villages of Padstow, where the renowned chef Rick Stein boasts a superb seafood restaurant and deli shop; Port Isaac where Doc Martin was filmed, and Rock are all worth a visit. Mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle is close by, whilst the wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor are a must for walkers. For a great day out try Crealy Adventure Park and the famous Eden Project. Petrol station 4 miles. Shop and pub 4 mile
