Sitting almost directly on the sand overlooking the beautiful beach of Gorran Haven, Beach Corner Cottage is as close to the sand as you can get. Lovingly restored by the owner, this 17th-century, semi-detached cottage has all you need for a great family getaway in a Cornish coastal village. The village of Gorran Haven makes a perfect holiday base for touring this stunning area, with many superb outdoor activities available, including fishing, sailing or walking the South West Coastal Path to Portmellon and onto Mevagissey, where a traditional lunch of crab sandwiches in one of the cafés or pubs can be enjoyed. Gorran Haven offers a shop/post office which supplies all the basic essentials, as well as freshly baked bread each morning.
There is also a restaurant and pub within walking distance of the cottage.
A trip to Mevagissey with its fishing trips and famous Cornish pasty shops is a must, as is a visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. You can catch the seasonal ferry from the quay across St Austell Bay to the sea faring town of Fowey. The famous Eden Project near St Austell is also not be missed and is sure to keep visitors of all ages entertained. For beach lovers, this area is a paradise, offering secluded bays in addition to busier beaches, with many activities to enjoy including the sailing club at Porthpean and the beach activities in Pentewan, which is also the start of an off road cycle trail that can link up with a network of off road trails.
A visit to the Georgian harbour of Charlestown and the Shipwreck Museum makes for a pleasant way to spend an afternoon, as there are often tall ships in the harbour which is used as many TV and film sets. The golf courses of Porthpean, St Austell and Carlyon Bay are easily reached, and the coastal path passes the front door, so Beach Corner Cottage really is the perfect spot to enjoy this dramatic county. Beach 5 yards. Shop 20 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yard
