Warren Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests in comfortable double and twin bedrooms. The living room has a two-seater sofa and two armchairs. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over and WC. Warren Cottage benefits from two allocated parking spaces and a private enclosed courtyard garden accessed from patio doors opening out from the living area. There are also extensive areas of communal open space, including a Devon orchard.
Warren Cottage is one of a collection of farmhouse conversions at Drupe Farm Court, in the village of Colaton Raleigh, situated in well-landscaped grounds with excellent views of the surrounding countryside, being part of the designated East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This delightful ground floor apartment offers visitors a comfortable stay in well-presented accommodation, offering the perfect bolt hole for a family or a couple’s retreat, with the beach at Budleigh Salterton (which forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site) just a short car journey from your front door.
Colaton Raleigh boasts a village shop and pub, along with a Church and Community Centre in Church Road, which leads down to the River Otter. The Regency town of Sidmouth is around 5 miles from the cottage, and as well as its magnificent red cliffs and beach, features a variety of individual shops, pubs and restaurants, a cinema and public gardens. Budleigh Salterton is 3½ miles away; its beach provided the setting for Millais’ famous painting ’The Boyhood of Raleigh’. If you travel from the cottage 1 mile towards Budleigh Salterton you will come to Bicton Park, with its world heritage botanical gardens; this is well worth a visit. The bus stops in the village go direct to Sidmouth in one direction and Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth in the other. Ideally located for a peaceful getaway and whilst having good access to Exeter, Exmouth and Sidmouth, you can enjoy a variety of beaches and coves along the south coast. Explore the many visitor attractions including Crealy Adventure Park and Quad World.
Must see areas include historic Exeter, Escot Park, and the seaside resort of Exmouth, with its magnificent sandy beach and cliff top walks with stunning views of the bay, sand dunes, rock pools and seaside attractions. There are also a wealth of National Trust properties and gardens in the area. Dartmoor National Park, the south west’s biggest wilderness, and the largest, highest upland in southern Britain, is within driving distance (40 minutes). It has rugged landscapes, granite tors, bronze age archaeology and is an important reserve for rare birds, butterflies and rare. The River Otter is 5 minutes’ walk, where you can join riverside footpaths to the coast via villages like Otterton and Budleigh, along the way you can see kingfishers, otters as well as the famous wild beavers.
