Surrounded by lovely gardens, the cottage has its own drive and private off road parking. Laid out in a ‘reversed living’ with bedrooms on the ground floor and living area on the first floor. Moorview Cottage is literally a short walk up onto the wild, ruggedness of Dartmoor. Located in the quiet hamlet of Cudlipptown, this is just on the outskirts of the village of Peter Tavy. Here you will find a friendly and welcoming local inn.
Just 4 miles from the historic market town of Tavistock. Here you will find a good ranges and shops and local amenities plus some very interesting historical buildings and connections, and with a fabulous indoor pannier market. This cottage is a superb holiday home, warm and comfortable all year around, ideal for families and also for couples who want a tranquil peaceful location. From the garden there are lovely views up onto the moor and at night, the dark sky makes for excellent stargazing. If you’re the outdoor type, there are some fabulous walks and cycle routes along the Granite Trail and Lydford Gorge (National Trust).
If you fancy something a little more adventurous, go out trekking from the local horse riding stables in the village of Mary Tavy. Centrally located midway between the North and South coasts, there are beaches at Bude and Westward Ho! that are well worth the drive. Other highlights are Drogo Castle (National Trust), Roadford Lake, Tarka Trails at Gunnislake and a day trip to Plymouth, with it rich naval history, has lots to offer visitors. Beach 18 miles.
