Elizabeth House is quietly situated in the outskirts of the pretty village of Bampton on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. This holiday home is perfect for guests looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of a Devon beauty spot. Upon entering the property, guests will find the spacious living room where they can relax in front of the electric fire watching your favourite movie on the Freeview Smart TV. The open plan kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with high-end appliances and modern units, whilst the dining table provides a great space to enjoy a family meal. Outside guests will enjoy the private enclosed garden with outdoor seating, a lovely spot for relaxing in the sunshine. Heading upstairs to the first floor where there is a double room and a single room. On the second floor is the spacious master bedroom which has a double bed and an en-suite shower room, the family bathroom is also on the second floor.
The local scenery is beautiful and there are many walks from the doorstep. Exmoor and Wimbleball Lake are close by for walking, cycling, fly fishing, horse riding and a wide variety of water sports. Bampton has a wide range of amenities with butchers, bakers, greengrocer, three pubs, restaurants and cafés, two convenience stores, two antique shops and a children’s play park. While great pubs, restaurants and delicious local food also available in Dulverton. This is a fantastic location for exploring many villages and local sites especially on Exmoor; Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Landacre and Dulverton. There are several National Trust stately homes and gardens within easy reach, including Knightshayes Court, a striking gothic mansion with extensive grounds.
The large town of Tiverton is just 4 miles away and offers some interesting places in amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, including Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life, which is one of the largest social history museums in the South West. The rolling wild green hills of Exmoor are nearby, where you may find stags, streams and breathtaking scenery, along with the town of Dulverton and Dunster village. Exeter and Taunton are a short 35-minute drive away offering shops, theatres and restaurants, or visit the beaches of North Devon and even the Jurassic Coast. This is a perfect base for touring rural inland Devon, often missed by tourists heading for the coast.
