The village of Ulrome is situated between Bridlington and Hornsea making it a perfect base to visit the east coast, the Wolds and the North Yorkshire Moors. A short walk from the house brings you to the beach at Ulrome, which is reached by steps. Hornsea, a short drive, is well known for its popular outlet village. There is also Hornsea Mere, which at two and a half miles long is Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake. It attracts wildlife and rare species, ideal for those birdwatchers amongst you.
The market town of Beverley is one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets and is just a 20-minute drive away. Beverley Minster is known for its abundance of stone carvings, stained glass and decoration. History buffs, music lovers and shoppers are attracted to the town’s pretty cobbled streets and courtyards.
Bridlington is a traditional Victorian seaside resort with fantastic beaches stretching to Sewerby. It still has a very busy working harbour where you can sit for many an hour watching the fishermen bring in their catch.
Be sure to visit the Old Town of Bridlington with its narrow streets and stunning Georgian houses. The alleyways hide the little antique and art shops so take time to meander and you will not be disappointed.
Bridlington Priory can be found in the Old Town, one of the most stunning buildings you will see. Here you can watch one of their musical events, listen to the choirs or just enjoy one of the many services. On an evening there are plenty of restaurants, bars and of course The Spa, where you can see International acts throughout the year.
