No. 19 is the perfect holiday destination for couples, friends and families. It is situated right in the centre of the unspoilt seaside town of Filey with every amenity on your doorstep. The property has enclosed gardens to the front and rear, making it an ideal place for your children. Enjoy your morning coffee and catch some rays in the front garden, then follow the sun to the back and enjoy a delicious meal cooked on the BBQ.
There are restaurants, shops and cafés all within a short stroll, as well as the train and bus station for those who like to park the car and leave it behind for the week. The high street is just around the corner with lots of little independent shops and this leads down to the beach, Filey’s jewel in the crown. Nearby Crescent Gardens provides the perfect spot for sitting and admiring the far-reaching views over the bay from The Brigg in the north, renowned for fishing and rock pooling, to Flamborough Head in the south.
Visit the local floodlit tennis courts (bring your rackets), a bowling green, and Glen Gardens, ideal for a picnic. Just beyond, guests can enjoy a fun game of miniature golf, or keen golfers can try out a nearby course known to be one of the best in Yorkshire. Filey beach is renowned for being one of the best beaches on the east coast and stretches along the coastline for over 5 miles. Filey Coble Landing is home to the Filey lifeboat, with cafés, crab stalls, ice creams and amusements. In the summer months the salmon boats can be seen returning with their catch. Just along the coast there’s the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs which is home to thousands of migrating seabirds and you can see them close up from the viewing platform on the cliff edge.
The puffins have attracted many visitors over the years.
The seaside resorts of Bridlington, Flamborough Head and Scarborough are just a short drive away. For those who enjoy walking, the promenade is perfect for a relaxing stroll, or for a longer excursion, the 110 mile Cleveland Way finishes in Filey, where the end of the trail is marked by a sculpture. The cliff top walk going back towards Scarborough has stunning scenery. Less than an hour’s drive takes you over the North Yorkshire Moors to the bustling town of Whitby, and Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a stop on the way. The medieval city of York is just an hour’s drive away and is full of history with several museums, theatres and the majestic minster standing proud within the city walls. Beach ¼ mile. Shop and pub 150 yards, restaurant 100 yards
