This large farmhouse has lots of room where families can enjoy a great holiday together. Situated on a working farm, it is nonetheless very private, and has an enclosed, lawned area with a charcoal BBQ. To the front of the property are open views across farmland, where you can watch hares boxing in the early evening or catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the area. Beautifully equipped, the accommodation has been furnished to a very good standard, and wood burners lend it a real, homely feel. There are two living rooms, a master bedroom with an en-suite, and the family bathroom has a lovely slipper bath, together with ‘his and hers’ basins.
This location is perfect for exploring Yorkshire, with Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington all within a very short drive. Filey is the smallest of the three resorts and is renowned for its stunning beach stretching for 4 miles. Scarborough and Bridlington are much larger resorts with working harbours. Just 15 minutes’ drive away is the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs where you can observe puffins and gannets in their natural habitat perched on the chalk cliffs. There are plenty of educational activities for children to learn about the birds and enjoy some informative walks.
The city of York is just an hour away by car, or you can catch a direct train from Scarborough.
Be sure to visit the majestic York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. The city is a maze of little streets and squares where you will find independent shops, street entertainers and plenty of cafés and bars. The stately homes of Sledmere House, Sewerby Hall and Burton Agnes Hall are also close by and have beautiful gardens. Castle Howard is a little further away, but still easily accessible. With so much on the doorstep, Pasture House will be a great location for a memorable family holiday. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile
Spoilt for choice - gate lodge or coastal cottage? Yorkshire is a great holiday destination. There is plenty of dog friendly holidays in York, Herriot Country or Harrogate - some have half term deals.
