Hygge Lodge is a beautiful log cabin situated adjacent to Sewerby Hall on the Bridlington Links Golf Course and Leisure Estate. Overlooking the sweeping coastline between Danes Dyke natural ravine and the soaring white Bempton Cliffs, this lovely lodge couldn’t be in a better location.
As you approach along the sweeping road, winding through the golf course you are sure to get that holiday feeling. There are patches of woodlands, where deer can be seen roaming around the estate, as well as picnic areas and lawned green spaces. This detached lodge benefits from wrap-around decking where you can enjoy the rays of sun while you watch your little ones play. Inside, the lodge has been tastefully furnished by the owners who have created a cosy and welcoming holiday home. The name Hygge Lodge was aptly chosen, as the Norwegian word ‘hygge’ translates to the feeling of cosiness, comfort and contentment. Hygge Lodge is well-equipped and provides everything you need to enjoy a self-catering holiday whilst enjoying family time together. There are lots of thoughtful extras provided such as a baby bath which can be used in the shower room, a play pen for toddlers and lockable storage outside which is ideal for storing pushchairs or bikes.
This area also contains buckets, spades and windbreakers for your days at the beach.
The open plan living area is bright and spacious. Perfect for sitting back and relaxing in the comfortable sofas around the TV, or perhaps enjoying a family board game at the dining table. With a master double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a children’s bunk room, this is an ideal choice for families or for two couples travelling together. The property is all on the ground floor and has ramp access to the side, making this an ideal choice for guests who prefer ground floor accommodation.
The club house is just a short stroll away where there is a popular restaurant and bar, as well as a gym/fitness centre, which can be used by non-members. The bar area leads out onto a veranda with stunning sea views where you can sit and enjoy a meal or drink. The 18-hole cliff top golf course is next to the site and is also available to non-members too (at cost). The village of Flamborough is to the north and the popular seaside resort of Bridlington to the south.
Sewerby Hall is accessed via a path through woodland from the lodges. This stunning Georgian mansion has award-winning gardens and a zoo for the children to visit. With over 50 acres of parkland, there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic along the cliff top. Alternatively catch the land train that runs between the hall and Bridlington, and enjoy a day on the sandy beach or a walk along the harbour front. This traditional seaside resort is ideal for families with plenty of bars and restaurants, and the Bridlington Spa Theatre, which is very popular with international acts and shows. Danes Dyke Nature Reserve is a short stroll where there are some wonderful nature and wildlife walks. Paths from here lead to Flamborough Head, originally a small fisherman’s village. The walks along the cliff top are truly spectacular. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive away. This is a great base from which to explore the East Coast and the Yorkshire Wolds too. Beach 3 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 400 yard
