Bridlington, boasting a wonderful sandy beach, is a traditional seaside resort for families, yet is still a very busy working harbour. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the Bridlington Spa Theatre is very popular with international acts and shows.
To the north of the links you can walk to Danes Dyke Nature Reserve where there are some wonderful nature and wildlife walks. It is a great, dog-friendly place to take the children and wander amongst the wooded areas down to the shoreline.
Paths from here lead to Flamborough Head, originally a small fishing village with spectacular white chalk cliffs and rugged clifftop pathways.
The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive away and here you can see the thousands of migrating seabirds especially the puffins. Scarborough and Whitby are further up the coast, both very popular holiday destinations. Beach 400 yards. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
