Spend the day in the historic walled city of York with its endless array of attractions, including the Jorvik Centre and the imposing minster, or for a more cosmopolitan experience, visit the city of Leeds with its outstanding Victoria Quarter.

The market town of Howden with its mediaeval minster is only a 10-minute drive and offers a wonderful range of shops including family butchers, bakeries, delis, a wine shop and also a larger supermarket. In addition there are a range of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs to enjoy. Beverley, another market town well worth a visit, is just half an hour away with its famous horse racing track located on the Westwood.

The area around the houses offers direct access to a range of pleasant country walks and cycle routes including the Wolds Way and Trans Pennine Trail. Other country pursuits available nearby include fishing, bird watching, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding. Should you wish to enjoy the wide variety of bridle paths with your own horse, stabling/grazing (at cost, by arrangement with the owner) is available at the owner’s farm at the end of the beautiful tree lined drive.
