Houghton village centre is just 17 minutes’ walk and the closest public house is 7 minutes’ walk away. Houghton and Wyton are served by a village shop & Post Office, tea rooms, antiques shop and a gallery. National Trust owned Houghton Mill is an 18th century water mill and is well worth a visit. When the mill is running, you can get a real insight into how this fascinating historic building operated. As well as walks around the grounds, canoeing, cycling and a tearoom are also available.
The attractive and historic market town of St Ives, which sits on the river Great Ouse, is just 2.5 miles away, and has lots of eateries, shops and interesting places to visit.

You can also catch a bus from St Ives via The Guided Bus Route to Cambridge where you will find lots more to explore including the famous colleges, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the botanical gardens and of course, one of the most popular things to do in Cambridge is to "punt" along the River Cam, which runs through the heart of the city.
