The hamlet of St Nicholas South Elmham is steeped in history and surrounded by the beautiful rolling countryside of the Waveney Valley. South Elmham Hall, with its ancient ruined minster and farm café, is reached by footpath. A short drive away is the historic town of Bungay, gateway to the Broads National Park and notable for its wide range of antique shops, restaurants, pubs and other specialist shops; bicycle and canoe hire is also popular. Nearby is St Peter’s Hallwith its award-winning independent brewery and restaurant.
A little further along the Waveney is the attractive market town and boating centre of Beccles where day boats can be hired to explore the Broads.
The bustling city of Norwich, with its fascinating castle museum and Theatre Royal, is within
