A short drive away is the historic town of Bungay, gateway to the Broads National Park and notable for its wide range of antique shops, restaurants, pubs and other specialist shops; bicycle and canoe hire is also popular. Nearby is St Peter’s Hall with its award-winning independent brewery and restaurant. A little further along the Waveney is the attractive market town and boating centre of Beccles where day boats can be hired to explore the Broads.
The bustling city of Norwich, with its fascinating castle museum and Theatre Royal, is within
40 minutes’ drive. Also within half an hour’s drive is the Suffolk Heritage Coastline with the famous seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, the RSPB bird reserve at Minsmere and the smaller but equally charming villages of Dunwich and Walberswick. Shops and pub 3 miles.
