Perfectly placed in the quiet hamlet of Martham with its village green and duck pond, pub and shop just a short walk away. Excellent sandy beaches at Winterton-on-Sea and Hemsby lying just 4 miles away. Both with excellent sandy beaches backed with sand dunes. Winterton-on-Sea beach has areas designated dog friendly, with a 6 mile circular walk along the beach’s nature reserve that affords sightings of the local seal colony. This is an excellent area for cycling, walking, bird watching and golf.
Just a 5 minute drive away are the famous Norfolk Broads, with the village of Potter Heigham. Wroxham, known as capital of the Norfolk Broads National Park, both offer daily river trips, boat hire, shops, riverside pubs, cafés and restaurants.
For children, a day out to BeWILDerwood at Horning is a must. This outdoor adventure park has jungle bridges and lots more. The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth is 11 miles away, with its amusements, pleasure beach that offers thrill rides galore, a wide sandy beach, waxworks, pitch and putt, town centre with shops, market square, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. Pleasurewood Hills, 19 miles, is a thrill seeking theme park that will provide fun for all the family.
Thrigby Wildlife Park, 5 and a half miles, offers all ages the chance to see exotic animals up close, including a tree walk where you can look right down into the tiger enclosure.
Africa Alive, 26 miles, offers animal encounters too with an incredible meerkat enclosure that is not to be missed. The medieval city of Norwich, 18 miles, offers a stunning Norman castle to explore along with numerous museums, cinemas, theatre, excellent shopping, two indoor shopping malls and plenty of restaurants, cafés and pubs. Further afield is the Royal Sandringham Estate and museum, 60 miles, and Suffolk with its stunning coastline. Plenty of good cycle routes are available from the doorstep and daily fishing is available at Martham Fishing Pits. Beach 4 miles.
