Extra Amenities

Located in the heart of the Peak District National Park in the picturesque hamlet of Hulme End, this stylishly converted stone holiday cottage dates back to the 1880s and comes complete with the opportunity for free fishing onsite. Comfortably and tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, it is full of thoughtful personal touches. A French door leads from the living room to a secluded, enclosed garden, and the cottage is ideally located just 250 yards from a 200-year-old coaching inn, simply making them a perfect base in which to relax and unwind or from which to explore the area. Nestling on the edge of the River Manifold and the Manifold Valley, the surrounding Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside is both spectacular and diverse.

There are ample opportunities for walking, cycling and even horse riding with the Manifold Trail accessible straight from the door, and the Tissington Trail just 2 miles down the road in the Peak District village of Hartington. The popular dramatic rocky outcrop known as The Roaches, long loved by both walkers and climbers alike can also be reached in just 15 minutes. The busy market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are both easily reachable within half an hour, as is Buxton with its famous opera house and stunning Georgian architecture.

The Heights of Abraham with its unrivalled views and cable car, the ever popular town of Bakewell, the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and even Alton Towers Theme Park for those thrill seekers, are all also just 30 minutes away. A mere further 10 minutes then brings the stunningly beautiful village of Castleton, The ‘Emma Bridgewater Factory’ full of her locally produced earthenware iconic pottery, and the remarkable plague village of Eyam. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
River View Cottage can be booked with Bridge View Cottage (30172) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
