Extra Amenities

Located on the first floor, accessed by a wide Victorian staircase, the Holst Apartment features high ceilings, original sash windows and plenty of character. While the décor boasts a modern feel, it has been inspired by the Regency era of Gustav Holst’s birth, featuring colours that nod towards the palette at the turn of the turn of the 20th century. This creates a soft, relaxing, and inviting space.

Cheltenham is regarded as the ‘Cotswolds culture hub’ and is home to a number of world-renowned festivals, such as the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Racecourse should you want to don your tweed for a day at the races, and the Jazz Festival where the worlds greats descend to bring music to your ears.

Whilst in Cheltenham, you may wish to pay homage and visit The Holst Birthplace Museum: Composer of ‘The Planets’, Holst’s childhood home which retains its original Regency architecture and decor, on show alongside many of Holst’s personal effects including the piano on which he composed.

Nearby, and within easy reach are an array of snazzy wine bars, a promenade of designer shops, a theatre and regency parks and gardens.

If you are looking for something special why not pre-book an evening at one of the towns Michelin star restaurants, followed by quaffing some signature cocktails at one of the live music venues. Holst Apartment is also the perfect base to explore the wider Cotswolds. Within a scenic 30 –40 minute drive you will find the famous chocolate box and honey hued villages of Bourton-on-the-water, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bibury
