Set in a pastoral valley, Chedworth is a picturesque village, where you may see alpacas in the surrounding fields and gamboling lambs in spring.
Unspoilt by tourism, it has many public footpaths in and around it, and lays claim to being the longest village in England. Nearby is Chedworth Roman Villa, and at just 15 minutes’ drive is the Roman town of Cirencester (Corinium), with its amphitheatre and museum, which has two superb mosaics.
The beautiful market towns of Winchcombe, Stow-on-the Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden are all an easy drive away, and for a day trip, why not visit the Roman spa town of Bath; Cheltenham and its racecourse; Oxford’s dreaming spires; Stroud and its artists; Tetbury with its antique shops and ancient covered market; Malmesbury and its abbey, (the burial site of Athelstan, the first king of all England); and Bristol with its historic docks? Seven golf courses and seven riding stables all within 25 minutes.
Farm shop 5 minutes by car. Shops 4½ miles, 17th century pub and restaurant 100 yards
