This delightful semi-detached stone built country cottage occupies a glorious rural setting in the pretty Peak District hamlet of Barber Booth. With wonderful features such as stone flag flooring, exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, the cottage provides a perfect cosy retreat for couples wanting to enjoy the spectacular surrounding scenery of the Peak District National Park. With footpaths to Mam Tor, Jacob’s Ladder and Kinder Scout accessible by foot from the cottage you can leave the car parked up for your stay.
The beautiful village of Edale is less than a mile down the road and is incredibly popular with walkers and outdoor enthusiasts, being nestled at the foot of Kinder Scout, home to the official start of the famous Pennine Way.
With a variety of facilities including two local pubs serving food and a general store, you don’t need to venture far. That said, other Peak District towns and villages are within easy reach including the wonderful honeypot village of Castleton, 15 minutes, Hathersage, famous for its associations with Robin Hood and the Eyre family, 20 minutes and the spa town of Buxton, 30 minutes.
The magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are around 45 minutes away, and Edale train station is approximately a mile from the property and provides direct access to the Manchester-Sheffield route, running through some of the most scenic countryside the UK has to offer.
