Close to the centre of the village and only a very short walk to the local pub and the Manor Stables Craft Centre with café, Stone Lodge provides beautiful, detached holiday accommodation all on one level. An ideal base for a relaxing break or from which to explore the area with its many country lanes around the holiday cottage, which make it ideal for walking and cycling. The cottage is within easy reach of the historic town of Newark, 12 miles, with its cobbled market square which hosts regular outdoor markets, a 12th-century castle and a wide range of shops and restaurants.
The market town of Grantham, 10 miles, offers museums, NT houses and gardens to visit, and Lincoln is only 15 miles, both with castles, antique centres and many restaurants. The holiday cottage also provides a central base for exploring Lincolnshire which has something for everyone, from canoeing and theme parks to exploring the wolds and the history of the area, admiring architecture from the 17th century, and nature reserves.
Within an easy drive are Belvoir Castle with its breathtaking views, RAF Cranwell, Belton House and not forgetting Lincoln Cathedral, one of the finest Gothic buildings in Europe, which was used for filming the ‘Da Vinci Code’.
