Extra Amenities

Ranby Cottage Farm offers superb accommodation on a working family farm in beautiful North Nottinghamshire. Two renovated cottages, Olivia (ref UK13137) and Cowslip (ref UK13138) are perfect for rest and relaxation. Each has a wood burner and can cater for guests wanting a more active getaway. These semi-detached cottages sleep up to four guests each, and have an interconnecting door which can allow the properties to be booked together. Cowslip has the luxury of a private hot tub in the barn enclosure.

The cottages are conveniently situated with easy access to the A1, and well placed between the two historic market towns of Retford and Bawtry. Visitors will be able to discover many local places for shopping, exploring and eating out, including cosy pubs and fine dining.

Ranby is ideally located for Sherwood Forest where visitors can discover more about Robin Hood and visit the famous Major Oak; also a number of significant country estates such as Clumber Park, Thoresby Park, Rufford Country Park and the beautiful home and gardens of Lord Byron at Newstead Abbey.

Nearby Creswell Crags has Britain’s only Ice Age cave painting, and a short drive will take you to Laxton’s Medieval Farming System and the thought provoking National Holocaust Centre.

Nottinghamshire is steeped in history including the Pilgrim Fathers and the Civil War. The Pilgrim Centre in Retford is well worth a visit; as is the fascinating Newark Civil War centre and Southwell with its beautiful minster and workhouse, for a visit with a difference.
Families will find many places to visit and explore including Sundown Adventureland, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Wheelgate Park and White Post Farm.

The cottages are perfect for nature lovers to relax in the countryside and explore the nearby Chesterfield Canal, Idle Valley Nature Reserve and Daneshill Lakes.

Active guests can enjoy excellent local road cycling or ‘off road’ cycle tracks as well as Go Ape adventure at Sherwood Pines. The cottages have storage for bikes. A variety of golf courses and fishing lakes are also nearby, and with excellent road links, visitors can venture slightly further afield for a day out in Yorkshire, Derbyshire or Lincolnshire.

Ranby Cottage Farm Cottages offer guests a warm and comfortable, convenient place for a short break or longer holiday base. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests
